WHAT ORBIT DOES
What We Do

— We Educate
- 80 students, mostly OVC’s or HIV victims from Pre K-Form Four (12th grade) attend Orbit School of the Cross.
- 34 Form Four students, and many others from the surrounding area, sit for KCSE exams at Orbit Village.
- 8 Young Orbit adults are in college in Kenya. Many have graduated and are working.
- Onyango, an Orbit son, became a licensed Pharmacist in 2015.
- Orbit graduates are working in at least 8 countries and all around Kenya.
- 40 Students will sit for KCPE (8th grade) exams. We are a testing center area for both exams.
- Our first student was awarded the Equity Bank, Wings to Fly Scholarship in 2015 and won a full High School scholarship.

— We Provide Care
- 1300 hot, nutritious meals are served free of charge to these 480 children + staff, 5 days a week.
- 80 families of orphans or extremely needy children receive grocery supplies 2x a month thru our Home Based Care Program.
- 100’s of people/children receive health care & medication at Orbit Village Medical Clinic (clinic currently not open full-time).
- 73 HIV + clients visit our social workers for HIV and other forms of consoling.

— We Provide Housing
- 90 Orphaned children live in the Orbit Child Refuge and are part of our JOI family and in our full-time care.
- 114 People live in the Orbit Village at the Mihang’o Road Site.

— We Employ
- Orbit employs 53 Kenyan teachers, administrators, house parents, cooks, guards, cleaners, & pastors.
- 15 Orbit graduates work in various level positions within the project.

— We Serve
- 750 ZAWADI bags filled with toys, clothing & school supplies are given yearly to kids at Orbit & 5 other locations.
- Orbit Village Project’s well stocked Library is open to the community.
- 100’s of other people are served through a second project in the Mathare Valley, originating from an IDP camp in 2008.

— We Invest in the Future
- Well over 1000 people find their hope and chance for a brighter, cleaner, and healthier world at the Orbit Village where they are actively engaged in raising their standard of living. While the Orbit Village Project meets many needs, with what little they make, they can improve their lives and better care for themselves & their children.
- The Orbit Village and Joshua Orbit International have successfully helped 100’s of families survive a broken generation and head into the future together to build the next generations of amazing Kenyan people able to contribute to their beautiful and important country which is key to the advancement of the African Continent.

We believe investing in a child’s education not only invests in their life, but also invests in the future of the country.

Protecting the environment and encouraging our children to pursue a sustainable future is a goal at Orbit.

Stop Child Trafficking
It is a sad truth that child trafficking exists all over the world. The same is true in Kenya.
